Finding the case (model) number and serial number is actually quite simple. You need to remove the watch band at the twelve o’clock position to find the case number engraved on the side of the case. Use a spring bar tool to compress the spring bar and remove the band from the lugs.

The 4-8 digit serial number is found the same way, only at the six o’clock position. The serial number is used to determine the production date and is one way of authenticating that your Rolex watch is genuine.
